The Felt School Board accepted the resignation of Ron Murphy who has been Interim Superintendent this year as well as the resignation of Mrs. Pat Myers. Thanks are extended to Mr. Murphy for his willingness to fill this position for our school. Mrs. Myers has taught in the Felt school system for 23+ years filling positions in art, English, history, government, and geometry. She will be sorely missed.
Mrs. Lewetta Hefley has
been hired as the superintendent for the coming school year.

The sale of surplus items netted the school $919 which will be put in the general fund to pay for repairs. The school calendar will remain the same as we will not have to use snow days to make up the days we have missed due to bad weather.
School policies were updated and added as necessary. Policies for Reduction-In-Force of both certified and support personnel were approved in the event the school is unable to meet the payroll. Anyone driving a school vehicle is barred from texting while driving. Anyone wishing to address the board during a board meeting must notify the school office 24 hours prior to the meeting; anyone wishing to be on the agenda must notify the superintendent seven days prior to the meeting. This will allow time for these things to be included in the agenda and the required meeting notification.
School Board elections resulted in John J. Fain, Jr. being re-elected to serve another term. Other board members are Troy Baker, Kenney Warner, Stuart Hutchison, and Casey Murdock.
A BIG thank you is extended to Casey Murdock for the donation of a beef for the school cafeteria. The beef was fed at the Celebrity Feeders who so generously donated the feed and care. This will be a tremendous help to the lunchroom budget, not to mention having better meat to serve the students. Funding cuts have made it a real challenge to keep the lunchroom operating. These donations are truly appreciated. Thank you Casey and John!
The school has housing for rent at very reasonable rates. Preference will be given to those with school-age children. Contact the school at 580-426-2220 for more information or to view the houses.
The Felt School Foundation would like to extend thanks to Ethel Murdock for the lovely quilt she has donated to be used for raising funds for the school. Everyone will be given the opportunity to own this quilt. For every $1 donation to the Foundation, donors will receive one opportunity to win the quilt. Plans are to give it away at the final game of the 5th and 6th grade Foundation Tournament on April 17. Make your donations NOW!
Entries are being accepted for the annual elementary tournament. The 3rd and 4th graders will play on April 9 and 10 with the 5th and 6th graders playing the following weekend, April 16 & 17. This tournament is the annual fund-raiser for the foundation and we are hoping for a good response. The school is suffering the effects of funding cut-backs from the state as well as low enrollment, so we need to be ready to provide the funds needed to keep our school doors open! As in years past, we will need help in the kitchen and concession stand, keeping gate, refereeing, and the many other jobs it takes to make the tournament a success. Donations of hamburger meat and roasts would be gladly accepted. Thanks in advance for all of your support.
The Booster Club has been busy helping with Pep-rallies as we send our teams to play in the district tournaments. The girls were defeated by Keyes in the first round so their season is over. The boys won their game against Keyes and advanced to regionals in the losers bracket where they were defeated by Waynoka. Mayra, Claudia, Tanner, Edwin, and Austin were chosen to play in the All-Conference game to be played at Felt on Tuesday, March 2.
